The 26 year old is still waiting

After the last blog, I got quite a few mails from those about to graduate or those who have just entered the job market saying – I’m in the same boat.

Back to my friend’s 26 year old son – I ask him, what do you want?
  • ·        Security (large orgn.) or risk (start up). He says: I can take a risk now but not once I get married (a year or two from now)
  • ·        wide span of learning (start up) – yes
  • ·        structured environment (large orgn) or not – I don’t know
  • ·        what do you want to be 5 years from now – I don’t know he said. I’ve tried to think but I don’t know frankly.

So I’m back to square one. Should he follow the ‘wild’ route, or the straight-jacketed one?

He’s still waiting for my advice. I want to tell him to 'Sing the Song he likes to Sing' - and he'll succeed anywhere. But he's not sure which songs he likes.

One thing I know - by the time I can find something to tell him he would have made up his own mind.
